Micron Technology, which obtained 1.1 million sq ft in Gachibowli around two years ago, plans to open the new building by the end of the year. According to the company’s senior officials, it was the largest leasing contract in Telangana’s SEZ at the time, and the building’s development is on schedule.
Micron now employs over 3,000 people and operates out of a five-lakh-square-foot factory in Raidurgam. “We aim to relocate current staff to the new site and hire 2,000 new employees over the following few years, bringing our total headcount to 5,000.”
While currently, we have 3,200 employees in India, about 90 per cent of them work in Hyderabad and the rest are in Bengaluru and New Delhi. Hyderabad is the headquarters site for Micron in India and it houses 14 centres of scale and expertise here,” says Anand Ramamoorthy, V-P and MD, Micron India.
