The Meghalaya government and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. have inked a contract to develop two hydroelectric projects in the state.
The two companies inked a contract for the development of the 50 MW WahUmiam Hydro Electric Project Stage I and the 100 MW WahUmiam Hydro Electric Project Stage II.
At the event were NEEPCO Director (Personnel) Anil Kumar, State Power Department Joint Secretary D DShira, and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong.
Tynsong expressed his appreciation to NEEPCO and referred to the signing of the contract as an “important and significant occasion.”
The minister also promised that the state government will give the project’s executing agency all the assistance it needs to finish it as soon as possible.
