In Madhya Pradesh’s Pithampur, Mahindra & Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector (FES) opened its first dedicated farm machinery unit (non-tractor) on Tuesday.
The 23-acre facility can produce 3,300 rice transplanters and 1,200 combination harvesters annually. New products developed in Mahindra’s global technology centres of excellence in Finland, Japan, and Turkey will also be released.
Narendra Singh Tomar, the union minister for agriculture and farmers’ welfare, officially opened the Pithampur factory.
According to a press release from the company, the plant’s access to a wide range of suppliers would allow the business to provide affordable, dependable farm machinery that is “Made in India, for India.”
