In order to give the state a much-needed facelift, the Maharashtra government is planning a significant renovation of the state’s infrastructure,
including airports, ports, expressways, and railway networks.
This project is expected to cost somewhere between ‘5 and 6 lakh crore. The War Room, which DevendraFadnavis created when he first
became chief minister in 2014, is back in action with bigger intentions.
One of the upcoming projects is to build an expressway grid with 6–8 lanes that connects the state’s districts. According to state
government representatives, nine new expressways are being developed, one of which will be the eight-lane Pune-Nashik Expressway.
The estimated cost of these nine expressways could be around Rs 2.35 lakh crore.
