The Maharashtra government has given the Metro Line 3 project a budget of Rs 250 crore. The money will go to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL), which is in charge of the project’s implementation.
Current is the second instalment of the project’s Rs 500 crore budget for this fiscal year. The government has already paid Rs 250 crore in January of this year.
The Centre and the state are splitting the cost of this initiative 50:50. The state government was required to pay 50 percent of taxes to the Centre, while the cost of land acquisition, relief rehabilitation, and a remission of Rs 806 crore state taxes were to be paid to MMRCL by the state government.
