Maharashtra Cabinet gives nod for revised plan for Mumbai Metro 3 project

The Colaba-Bandra-Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ) Metro 3 project in Mumbai was cleared by the Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday for an increase in cost from the original Rs 23,136 crore to Rs 33,405.82 crore.

Instead of providing the project with the original 2,402.7 crore, the State government would now provide 3,699.81 crore. The amended proposal was accepted by the Cabinet meeting held in Mumbai.

According to the updated estimates, the loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the project would be Rs 19,924.34 crore instead of the initial Rs 13,235 crore
