Maharashtra Cabinet approves Rs 3552 crore for new Jalna-Jalgaon broad gauge

The Maharashtra Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Ekanth Shinde has approved Rs 3,552 crore expenditure for the new Jalna-Jalgaon broad gauge railway line.

This railway project will connect Ajantha Caves and Rajur Ganapati, a holy pilgrimage site.

The state government will bear 50 per cent of the total project cost i.e Rs 3,552.715 crore out of the Rs 7,105.43 crore.

This will include the cost of land. During the meeting it was approved to implement this project through Central Railway Department.

The Cabinet decided to speed up the construction of the line which directly connects Marathwada with the important Mumbai-Delhi-Kolkata route.
