In order to develop a “gigawatt (Gw) scale” electrolyser manufacturing facility and participate in the nation’s green hydrogen ecosystem, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and McPhy, a France-based electrolyser technology and manufacturing company, have inked a contract.
Subramanian Sarma, whole-time director (energy), L&T, stated in a statement to Business Standard that the company aims to sell both green hydrogen and electrolysers through this arrangement.
“We are examining the value of renewable energy in the nation, and obviously, manufacturing is where we have started. Electrolysers have been deemed a crucial value proposition, according to Sarma.
As part of the agreement, McPhy will give L&T an exclusive licence to manufacture electrolysers, including any future product enhancements, using its pressurised alkaline electrolyser technology.
