The first 10 km elevated portion of Chennai Metro Line-3 between Nehru Nagar and Sholinganallur has been built by Larsen & Toubro, and in the last two weeks, the company has achieved two key milestones.
At the southern end of the 45.8 kilometre Line-3, which would connect Madhavaram to SIPCOT 2 over 49 stops, this leg of the 118.9 km Chennai Metro Phase 2 project (Package CP08 EV-01) comprises of 9 elevated stations.
The first pair of 27.90 m long U-girders for the line’s superstructure and the first piling cap at Sri Sowdeswari Nagar on Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) for the line’s substructure are among the significant construction milestones.
