Chennai Metro Rail Limited has awarded a contract worth Rs 360 crore to Linxon India Private Limited for 25 kV OHE and power supply systems for Phase 2 corridors of Chemmai Metro Rail Project.
Sources said that the tender for design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, training, and commissioning of RSS, ASS, SCADA, OHE and switching Station for Chennai Metro’s Phase II Corridor 3 and Corridor 5 was issued in October 2021 with 1150 day work completion deadline.
“This contract is in line with our from grid to vehicle vision, ensuring reliable and sustainable electric power supply, transmission and distribution. We are delighted to be part of the creation of eco-friendly public transport,” said Stefan Reisacher, CEO for Linxon.
“This project further cements our market leadership position for power supply projects in the Asia pacific region. The rail business has tremendous potential in the coming years and Linxon is a pioneer in this segment,” he added.
