Lindstrom India, a subsidiary of the Finnish textile service company Lindstrom Oy, has increased activities in this location’s workwear service unit in an effort to meet the country’s expanding demand in the south.
According to JuhaLaurio, president and chief executive officer of Lindstrom Group, the Chennai unit is anticipated to employ roughly 100 individuals with the extension of activities.
The expanded workwear service plant at Singaperumalkoil, some 45 kilometres away, would cater to the rising demand in south India’s automotive, electronics, food, pharmaceutical, and healthcare sectors.
“Chennai has been a strategic choice for us. In accordance with our strategy, we want to be located close to our customers and serve them in the markets where they operate. The state-of-the-art business unit in Chennai not only increases capacity by 100 per cent but it is designed to support Lindstrom’s sustainability goals to be carbon neutral by 2035…,” Laurio said.
