Linde inaugurates its first women operated packaged gas plant in Trichy

One of the leading manufacturers of industrial gases, Linde India, built Trichy’s first packaged gas plant (PGP), which is exclusively managed by women, on July 6, 2022.

The event was attended by John Panikar, Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific, of Linde Plc, and Abhijit Banerjee, Managing Director, Linde India.

Panikar says, “We at Linde realise the importance and necessity for diversity and inclusion in the workforce and are rising to the occasion. The Trichy plant shows our resolve for the same. This plant is a women lead packaged gas plant that will serve the medical and industrial gases demand in and around Trichy. It is a first for Linde globally”.

The Trichy packaged gases facility started operations in 2007 with the filling of oxygen with the intention of supporting the neighbourhood hospitals.

Currently, the plant serves the medical needs of the area around Trichy and within a fifty-kilometer radius, as well as industrial markets in Central and South Tamilnadu.
