The Tamil Nadu Road Infrastructure Development Corporation has awarded Larsen & Toubro an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract to build the second phase of the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (CPRR).
In section 2 of the 26-kilometer Phase-II, the corporation will build a six-lane greenfield highway that will run from Thatchur on National Highway 16 to the start of the Thiruvallur bypass.
According to a press release, the highway will feature flexible pavement, two-lane service roads with paved shoulders on both sides of the carriageway, at-grade intersections, major and minor bridges, vehicular, light vehicular, small vehicular underpasses, and culverts, as well as seven years of maintenance.
