The largest stem cell production facility in India will be established in Telangana by the US-based StemCures company, which will concentrate on stem cell therapy.
According to a statement issued by the Telangana government on Wednesday, the facility would be built with a possible investment of about USD 54 million and employment opportunities for about 150 people.
The statement was made following a meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, between Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao and Dr.Sairam Atluri, founder of StemCures.
The proposed facility’s goal, according to the proposal, is to take advantage of the most recent technology and know-how from the US to produce the highest-quality stem cell products at competitive prices for treating a range of significant medical illnesses.
Welcoming the investment, Rama Rao said: “I am delighted to welcome StemCures to Hyderabad. Stem cell therapy is a promising new treatment for a variety of conditions, and I am confident that StemCures will provide high-quality care to patients in India. I look forward to working with the clinic to make stem cell therapy more accessible to patients in India.”
