The Outer Ring Road (ORR) project surrounding Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, has started the land acquisition phase.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the revenue department have begun erecting the project’s border markers.
For a length of approximately 77.7 km, the government intends to build ORR as a four-lane (expandable to six-lane) roadway, and 348.09 hectares will be purchased for the project.
The proposal is further divided into alignments for the Northern Ring (29 km) and Southern Ring (47.9 km).
The southern ring, which is further divided into two pieces, lies between Mangalapuram and Vizhinjam, while the northern ring is between Navaikulam and Thekadda.
