Kribhco to set up three ethanol plants in Gujarat

Three new greenfield grain-based ethanol facilities are being built by Krishak Bharati Cooperative (Kribhco) in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

The plants are expected to cost Rs 1,000 crore and would be built within the next three years. To handle the setup of these bio-ethanol plants, Kribhco developed a special purpose vehicle (SPV), Kribhco Green Energy.

The company has secured environmental approval for a grain-based ethanol distillery in Hazira (Surat), and Amit Shah, the union minister for international cooperation, will lay the plant’s cornerstone.
