Kolkata construction waste recovery plant to commence operations in April

Rajarhat’s building waste recovery plant is almost finished. The factory is set to begin operations in April, according to a Kolkata Municipal Corporation official. It will be able to process 500 tonnes of garbage every day.

Construction trash will be crushed into aggregates, which will subsequently be combined with concrete to pave roads. Non-biodegradable construction trash includes head break concrete blocks, pile caps, and broken tiles. Instead of being discarded, they can be utilised to pave driveways.

According to a source in the KMC solid waste management department, a 5-acre land has been readied for installation of a mechanical plant for construction waste recovery.
