K M Sugar Mills approves modernisation of sugar plant

K M Sugar Mills Limited has authorised modernisation of the sugar plant and conversion of its double sulphitation sugar process to a refinery.

This will also reduce the amount of steam used by the refinery on cane, resulting in net bagasse savings.

The sugar refinery’s rated capacity will be 1200 tonnes per day of raw sugar refining with less than 45 ICUMSA sugar.

K M Sugar Mills Ltd (KMSML) was originally formed as a partnership firm in 1950, known as Kamlapat Motilal at Kanpur; the founder partners were Singhanias and Jhunjhunwalas and they had set up a small sugar milling plant at Kanpur in the year 1942.
