JSW Steel (USA) Inc, a subsidiary of JSW Steel, has begun work on modernising its Plate Mill in Baytown’s second phase. It is expected to be finished in the second half of 2023.
A 4-hi finishing mill, pre-leveler, accelerated cooling system/direct quench, cooling beds, and a new roll shop are all part of the project.
The project, according to Parth Jindal, Director, JSW USA, is part of a $260 million investment by JSW to increase product quality, productivity, yields, and overall cost-effectiveness at the Baytown plate plant.
