The Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Group’s port unit, JSW Infrastructure Ltd, emerged as the sole bidder in a tender to build and operate a new port at Keni, one of the two new ports Karnataka had planned with private funding, saving the state government from a setback.
There were no bids submitted for the tender to build a greenfield port in Pavinakurve.
The largest private port operator in India, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), which was anticipated to compete in the bidding, opted out.
