The JSW Group of India is said to be planning a 900MW pumped storage hydel power plant in West Bengal.
According to Indian news agency PTI, JSW Group chairman Sajjan Jindal made the announcement during the Bengal Global Business Summit, which was hosted by the state government.
Jindal was quoted by the news agency as saying: “We are keenly pursuing a 900MW hydro-pumped storage project. This will bring clean energy to the state and we hope to receive this prestigious project through a nomination from the state government.”
The state government of West Bengal is said to have planned for a third pumped storage power plant at the Bandhunala project in Purulia.
