JNB Steel Industries (Unit-3) has planned to undertake a new stainless steel wire manufacturing project in Mirzapur, Hisar, Haryana. The project involves the production of stainless steel wires and pipes, with a capacity of 21170 metric tons per annum, by utilizing stainless steel wire rod and cold/hot rolled coils. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 384.557 million. The construction activities of the project are scheduled to start in March 2023 and end in March 2023. As of March 2023, JNB Steel Industries has submitted its proposal along with the Terms of Reference (ToR) to the Ministry of Environment and Forests. The first stage of clearance from the ministry is required to be obtained before submitting the detailed project report for the final environment clearance. After receiving the final clearance, work on the project will commence, subject to the approval of the state pollution control board based on the rules framework. This project is expected to have a positive impact on the economy of the region by generating employment opportunities and boosting local businesses. Furthermore, it will add value to the manufacturing industry and contribute to the development of the stainless steel sector in the country.
