Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL) and Hygenco India Private Limited have partnered to construct a green hydrogen manufacturing facility. With the help of the facility, Jindal will be able to cut its carbon emissions by around 2,700 MT annually.
Leading provider of renewable energy Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), Vivaan Solar, has partnered with Hygenco. As a consequence of this breakthrough, it will now be the first stainless steel company in India to construct a green hydrogen factory.
In order to reduce carbon emissions by 3,100 metric tonnes, JSL began the shift from a thermal energy-intensive manufacturing setting to renewable energy alternatives including solar and wind power throughout the years 2021–2022.
Abhyuday Jindal, Managing Director of JSL, informs that the green hydrogen plant will be a first in India’s manufacturing sector, accelerating the switch from thermal to clean energy.
Jindal comments, “Moving forward, we will keep working to achieve net-zero emissions and energy conservation”. The brand is also keen to make investments in the field of renewable energy.
