Jewar airport to get five runways

Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that Jewar greenfield airport in Gautam Budh Nagar will now have five runways instead of the two that were originally planned. This is one of the country’s largest infrastructure projects. The minister claimed no one could stop Uttar Pradesh from flying since it was born to fly and referred to the civil aviation industry as the “nectar” of the state. He claimed that through UPGIS 2023, the state government was able to get investment proposals worth Rs 33.52 lakh crore thanks to its ground-breaking work in the civil aviation industry. “The state has three operational international airports and two are under construction in Jewar and Ayodhya. The Jewar airport will have five runways instead of two,” he said.
