Japan’s Mitsui and ReNew Power sign MoU to invest in renewable energy project

ReNew Power and Mitsui of Japan have inked an agreement under which the Japanese business would invest in a renewable energy project that the Indian company is constructing around the clock.

Three wind farms and a solar-plus-battery storage farm will be built in Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Maharashtra as part of the project. It will supply 400 MW of power to India’s state-owned Solar Energy Corporation (SECI). The farm will have a capacity of 1,300 MW and a battery storage capacity of 100 MWh.

According to a news statement from the two firms, the initiative “would feed into” India’s climate change pledges and objective of growing up the renewable energy sector.
