Through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB), Sterlite Power, a private sector power transmission infrastructure developer and solutions provider, was awarded the Nangalbibra-Bongaigaon inter-state power transmission project worth 324 crore after emerging as the L1 bidder.
A new 220/132 kV substation will be built at Nangalbibra, as well as a 130-kilometer 400-kV D/c transmission line connecting Bongaigaon in Assam and Nangalbibra in Meghalaya over the Brahmaputra. A 20-kilometer 132kV D/c line will connect Hatsinghmari in Assam with Ampati in Meghalaya as part of the project.
The NER-II project, an interstate transmission scheme, was completed by Sterlite Power.
