Rajasthan, the country’s solar heartland, has started to attract module manufacturing investments. The Board of Investments, led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, accepted Renew Energy’s bid to build a 2,000 megawatt module manufacturing plant on April 24.
The business has now submitted a plan to add another 2,000 MW to the capacity. Insolation Vitality, a private company that built a 200-megawatt module manufacturing factory, is currently growing its capacity by 500 megawatts.
“The company has already submitted a proposal to establish one other photovoltaic module manufacturing factory of 2,000 MW in Rajasthan in same premises as the existing 2,000 MW, which is now under development,” says Manoj Gupta, Vice President, ReNew Energy.
