The first “Energy Café” was created by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), India’s largest CNG distribution firm, and Kinetic Green, a Pune-based leading electric car manufacturer, as part of a strategic alliance aimed at changing the Indian electric vehicle sector.
IGL and Kinetic will collaborate to build a deep network of battery swapping stations, beginning in the Delhi region, where a variety of electric three-wheelers and two-wheelers would be able to use the service.
The notion of battery swapping is gaining traction in India’s transition to electric cars, as seen by our Finance Minister’s recent promise during the Budget address that the government will release a complete battery swapping legislation soon.
