GAIL (India) Ltd, a state-owned company, will construct India’s largest green hydrogen plant in the next 12-14 months to boost its natural gas operations with carbon-free fuel.
GAIL Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Jain said at the India Energy Forum hosted by CERAWeek that the business is planning to build a 10-megawatt (MW) electrolyser capable of producing 4.5 tonnes of green hydrogen per day.
The company has already issued a global procurement for the electrolyser, with delivery expected in 12-14 months.
