Indian Railways aims to begin producing coaches for Vande Bharat trains, according to Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
During the years 2022-23, the coaches will be constructed at the company’s two plants in Kapurthala and Raebareli.
Integral Coach Plant in Chennai is currently producing coaches for Vande Bharat trains. The self-propelled Vande Bharat trains, which were inaugurated in 2019, do not require an engine. They also travel at a moderately fast speed of around 160 km/h.
The Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala and the Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli are expected to begin producing these trains in 2022-23.
