The Indian Oil Corporation is undertaking a new project to set up a bitumen plant in Gujarat. The proposed plant will cater to the increasing demand for bitumen and have a production capacity of 500,000 TPA (tonnes per annum). The company has been working on the project since the summer of 2022, and Pörner engineers have been engaged in the basic engineering of the plant and preparing for the delivery of essential equipment. As of March 2023, the Indian Oil Corporation has received the necessary clearance from the state pollution control authorities to establish the new bitumen plant in Gujarat.
