R.K. Singh, the Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, unveiled the “Transmission System for Integration of over 500 GW RE Capacity by 2030” proposal on December 8.
The Ministry of Power established a high-level group to develop this plan for the transmission system needed to add 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
The chairman of the Central Electricity Authority is a member of the committee, along with representatives from the National Institute of Solar Energy, Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, and National Institute of Wind Energy.
