Hyderabad-based Filatex Fashions to up production of socks to 30 million units

One of the biggest producers of high-quality socks with its headquarters in Hyderabad, Filatex Fashions Limited (FFL), is expanding to serve the home market.

To go from the current seven million socks produced annually to 30 million, it will add 500 new machines. Additionally, the shop floor will increase from its present two lakh square feet to five lakh square feet.

2,000 people will be directly employed as a result of the growth, according to the company’s managing director, Prabhat Sethia.

The company told the stock exchange that there is already enough land to support the expansion. To produce T-shirts and tracksuits, it will buy 100 cut and sew machines.

It will also have a yarn dyeing plant and covering machines, it informed.
