HP, Gujarat and AP get principle nod to set up bulk drug parks

The plans to establish bulk drug parks from Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh have received preliminary permission from the government. The scheme, with a budget of Rs 3,000 crore, offers governments financial support for the creation of bulk drug parks.

According to a statement from the Chemicals and Fertilizers Ministry, the Department of Pharmaceuticals has given its “in-principle” approval to the proposals made by the three states under the “Promotion of Bulk Drug Parks” scheme, a crucial initiative to support the nation’s bulk drug manufacturing.

The financial assistance to the proposed facilities in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh would be 70 per cent of the project cost of common infrastructure facilities, the statement said.
