H&M teams up with Industrial Solar to build a solar project

Clothing retailer H&M has partnered with Industrial Solar GmbH, a division of Clean Industry Solutions Holding (CISH) with headquarters in Germany, to develop a solar project for Arvind Ltd., one of its largest textile suppliers in India.

By utilising clean, renewable energy and lowering emissions, the firm hopes to lower its carbon impact in the apparel sector.

According to a news statement from CISH, H&M and Industrial Solar have agreed to conduct an engineering study as the first step towards integrating a concentrating solar collector into Arvind Ltd.’s textile production.

The deal requires Industrial Solar to construct a demonstration project for Arvind Ltd. that will provide the proof of concept for the incorporation of a concentrating solar thermal system to produce direct steam for textile processes.
