Hindustan Unilever, a leading consumer goods company, is planning to establish a new synthetic detergent powder manufacturing expansion unit in Durgachak, Haldia, Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. The proposed project involves expanding the existing capacity of synthetic detergent powder to 7450 TPM and converting the fuel of the existing hot air generator from CBFS to HSD. The total estimated cost of the project is around Rs.267 million. As of March 2023, the company has received consent from the state pollution control authorities to establish the project, which indicates that the project complies with environmental regulations. The expansion of the synthetic detergent powder manufacturing unit is expected to boost the company’s production capacity and help meet the growing demand for its products in the market.
