Hindustan Ports, an Indian subsidiary of global port operator DP World, has won a bid to construct a new mega container terminal in Tuna-Tekra, Gulf, Kutch, Gujarat. The project will be built for the Deendayal Port Authority and will involve the construction of a large container terminal. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 42430 million, with DP World investing Rs. 4,243 crore and an additional Rs. 3000 million being invested by the Deendayal Port. This project is a greenfield Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative and is expected to bring substantial economic benefits to the region. As of February 2023, the government-owned port authority has issued a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to DP World for the project. Hindustan Ports is a subsidiary of DP World, one of the largest port operators in the world with a presence in over 40 countries.
