National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has awarded Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), in a joint venture with Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL), a contract worth Rs 3,681 crore for the construction of the Bandra Kurla Complex Station of the 508.17 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail.
HCC has a significant chance to diversify its business and gain traction in the high-speed rail construction sector with its decision to develop a high-speed bullet train station.
With this new project, HCC is able to take advantage of its experience building substantial infrastructure projects and apply it to a state-of-the-art transportation system.
The Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) Bullet Train Station would have six platforms, each of which is large enough to hold a 16-coach bullet train at 414 metres.
