HFCL, a leading telecom infrastructure company in India, has won an order worth INR 283 crores from the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (GMRC) for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of telecom systems for the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase II.
According to a statement by HFCL, the scope of work for the project includes the design, engineering, and integration of various telecom systems, including the public address system, passenger information display system, CCTV surveillance system, and voice communication system.
The project, which is expected to be completed within a period of 36 months, will cover a total of 28.25 km of metro rail network and 22 stations. The aim of the project is to provide passengers with a safe, comfortable, and efficient mode of transportation in the city.
HFCL’s Managing Director, Mahendra Nahata, said, “We are delighted to have won this order from GMRC, which is a testament to our expertise and capabilities in the telecom infrastructure sector. We look forward to working with GMRC to ensure the successful delivery of this project.”
The Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project Phase II is a part of the city’s larger plan to develop a comprehensive metro rail network. Once completed, it is expected to provide a major boost to the city’s transport infrastructure and contribute to the overall development of the region.
The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities for local residents, with approximately 150 skilled and unskilled workers expected to be employed during the project’s implementation phase.
