Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, announced a partnership with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) to provide charging infrastructure for two-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) across the country.
Last year, BPCL said that it will transform 7,000 traditional retail shops into energy stations that would offer numerous fueling alternatives and, in the medium to long term, an EV charging facility.
The two companies will work together to build a significant charging infrastructure at the existing nationwide energy station network as part of the agreement. Following that, they may expand their relationship to create greater synergies inside the EV ecosystem and related business sectors, allowing prospects to be enabled throughout the customer life cycle.
Charging stations will be installed in nine cities in the first phase, beginning with Delhi and bengaluru.
