Karnataka’s Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced in Bengaluru that the state would develop a permanent healthcare strategy plan with a long-term outlook.
Bommai said that “the health infrastructure in the progressive state” would be stepped up after inaugurating a new 350-bed heart care hospital block erected by Infosys Foundation on the campus of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research (SJICSR).
With the help of the Union government, the state plans to refurbish 250 primary health centres this year and another 250 next year.
“Action would be taken to build specialty hospitals, cardiac, and cancer hospitals at the divisional level in the near future,” he said.
