Haryana’s Yamuna Nagar to get a 900 MW power plant

Yamunanagar, Haryana, would get a 900 megawatt power plant built. The proposal to build a new power plant at Yamunanagar has received the chief minister’s approval, and shortly its site selection and detailed project report (DPR) would be accepted, according to the report.

Yamunanagar currently features a thermal power plant as well.

Since it became an independent state in 1966, Haryana has advanced in the power industry, increasing its electricity availability from 343 megawatts to 13,106.58 MW at the moment, according to a statement.

In the last eight years, the state has become self-sufficient in terms of power availability, the statement added.
