Haryana to host North India’s first Nuclear Power Plant

Given that a 1,400 MW nuclear power station is now being built close to Gorakhpur village, which is situated roughly 150 km northwest of New Delhi, Haryana may soon be home to Northern India’s first nuclear plant. The installation of nuclear energy plants in other parts of the country—which were previously mainly limited to the Southern and Western parts of India—would be one of the major achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, according to Union Minister of State for Atomic Energy Dr. Jitendra Singh, who revealed the aforementioned information. Haryana’s Gorakhpur The Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) Anu Vidyut Pariyojana (GHAVP), which consists of two units with 700 MW each of capacity and an indigenous design, is being built close to the village of Gorakhpur in the Fatehabad district of Haryana.
