A new automobile engineering facility is being established in Chennai by Harman, a Samsung Electronics affiliate and provider of car electronics technologies.
By the second quarter of this year, the new Chennai centre will be completely operational, and during the first year of business, 200 people will work for Harman there.
The amount of the new center’s investment was not disclosed by Harman.
Harman aims to use the new centre, which is housed at RMZ One Paramount in Porur, to access Chennai’s talented community of automotive engineers and researchers.
The Chennai centre will serve both international and domestic Manufacturers and collaborate with the other major hubs, such as Bangalore and Pune, to create cutting-edge automotive technologies, Harman India’s MD, PrathabDeivanayagham said.
“As a hub for automotive engineering and software talent, Chennai is the suitable location to attract top talent and foster a collaborative work culture that aligns with Harman’s global ethos,” he added.
