HAL has signed an MoU with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to convert Civil (Passenger) aircraft to Multi Mission Tanker Transport (MMTT) aircraft in India, as part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
HAL will convert pre-owned Civil (Passenger) aircraft into air refuelling aircraft with cargo and transport capabilities under the recently inked agreement. The move would give new capabilities and cost-effective solutions to India’s defence ecosystem.
HAL and IAI’s decades of experience in developing, manufacturing, and producing premier defence platforms would be facilitated by the MoU. The MoU also includes conversions from passenger to cargo aircraft and MMTT conversions.
