Ircon International Limited (IRCON), a Miniratna (Category-I) Schedule-A, Public Sector Enterprise, completed commissioning of the doubling work on the 72-kilometer Hajipur–Bachhwara route, including electrification. East Central Railways hired IRCON for this task.
The Hajipur-Bachhwara sector of Sonepur Division is an alternate, shorter route for traffic heading or leaving for the North Frontier region and is situated between the Hajipur-Barauni High Density Route and Hajipur.
The commissioning of Bachhwara-Mohiudding Nagar (20 km) and Mohiudding Nagar-SahpurPatori (13 km), for example, was completed in several phases over the course of 2020.
SahpurPatori-SahdeiBuzurg (12 km), Hajipur-AkshaywatRai Nagar (12 km), and AkshaywatRai Nagar-SahdeiBuzurg (14 km) have all been commissioned after Bachhwara Yard was established in the year 2021.
