Gwalior Municipal Corporation, located in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, is a local governing body responsible for providing essential public services to the citizens of Gwalior. The corporation is known for its commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation. In line with this commitment, the Gwalior Municipal Corporation has recently announced plans to establish a new compressed biogas plant in AdarshGaushala, Laltipara, Village Murar, Gwalior. This plant will be designed to process organic waste and produce compressed biogas with a capacity of 700 MT/Y, as well as fermented organic manure/biomanure with a capacity of 7000 MT/Y. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 310 million. This new compressed biogas plant will be a major milestone in Gwalior’s journey towards a greener and more sustainable future. It will help the city manage its organic waste more efficiently while also providing a reliable source of clean energy. The plant will also create job opportunities for local residents and contribute to the economic development of the region. As of February 2023, the Gwalior Municipal Corporation has received consent from the state pollution control authorities to establish the project, paving the way for the project to move forward. The corporation is now working on the final stages of planning and implementation, and is expected to break ground on the project in the near future.
