Gulermak – Kalpataru bags Bhopal Metro’s electrification contract

The 750 V DC 3rd Rail Electrification contract for the Bhopal Metro’s Phase 1 project, which consists of 2 lines and 28 stations, has been awarded to Gulermak – Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. JV as the preferred bidder.

The Subhash Nagar Depot, for which KEC-SAM JV won the lowest bidder award in February, is included in the scope of this systems contract (Package BH08), which covers design and installation work for all elevated and subterranean stations.

The contract was advertised for bids by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) in November 2021, with a Rs. 516 crore estimated budget and a 1278 day (3.5 year) deadline. In March, technical bids were opened, revealing 7 bidders.
