Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation has awarded two separate orders to a consortium consisting of Siemens and Rail Vikas Nigam.
According to a BSE filing by Siemens, “Siemens Ltd, as a member of a consortium with Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, received two separate orders from Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (GMRCL).”
“Siemens Limited’s share as part of the consortium is Rs 678 crore,” it continued.
The orders cover Surat Metro Phase 1, which spans more than 40 kilometres and includes 38 stations and two depots, and Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2, which spans more than 28 kilometres and includes 23 stations and one depot.
Project management, train electrification technology, including cutting-edge power supply and distribution systems, will all be provided by Siemens.
In addition, Siemens will also be providing advanced digital solutions, such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) solutions for both metros.
