Ahmedabad-based pharmaceutical company, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Gujarat government to set up a greenfield manufacturing facility. The facility will be set up at an investment of Rs 550 crore and will generate employment opportunities for around 1,000 people.
This new plant will manufacture Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), which are the raw materials used in the production of medicines. This initiative is in line with the government’s “Make in India” campaign to promote indigenous manufacturing in the country. Cadila Pharmaceuticals is one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in India and has been in the industry for more than six decades. The company’s focus is on research and development and innovation in the field of medicine.
